In the world of AI, that instinct is not optional. What was valid last week may not be valid next week. Tools change, platforms change, capability shifts overnight. Without a methodology that makes every tool, platform, agent and application work towards a defined outcome, you are not keeping up. You are just collecting.

"Human in the loop" puts the human inside a process AI is running. In my opinion that is the wrong position. The human decides whether the workflow exists, whether AI belongs in it, and whether the old way of working still holds. That decision does not sit inside the loop, it sits with the human above it.
